Bathinda, October 14

Baba Farid College of Engineering & Technology in collaboration with Industry-Interactive Entrepreneurship Cell, BFGI, organised a three-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC).

The camp started with an inaugural ceremony where Balbir Singh, National Accredited Trainer and former vice-president of NITCON Ltd, motivated the students to pursue their ideas and follow the path of entrepreneurship.

Balbir Singh said he was confident that students had brilliant ideas but it was the fear that held them back. He said this fear crept from the very fact that as starters one lacked knowledge of how to get started. On the first day of the camp, different sessions were conducted based on the themes of “Need for Entrepreneurship”, “Entrepreneurship as a career option” and “Entrepreneurial Qualities”.

The second day resource person for the first session was Mandeep Kaur Sidhu from Simbacart online services pvt Ltd, who gave insight into her entrepreneurial journey. Sidhu started Simbacart with the aim of uplifting rural areas in terms of skill development and generating employment. She encouraged the students to follow their passion with honesty and told that anybody could reach their goals with determination and perseverance.

Navdeep Singh Gill, Product & AI Architect, Chandigarh, talked about the emerging technologies of the 21st century such as AI, ML and data science to make students aware of various career and entrepreneurial opportunities available in these fields. He told them about the role of Angel Investors and Venture Capitalists to run the startup.

In the third day of the camp, Ashish Bansal, branch manager of Punjab & Sind Bank, talked about various schemes offered by banks and the government to startups and entrepreneurs.
