A clash erupted at Gurdwara Baba Bhundar Sahib in Bhundar village, Gidderbaha, over control of the gurdwara management committee, leaving four injured, including former sarpanch Sukhdev Singh. The dispute, which had been brewing for some time, turned violent when a group led by village sarpanch Amandeep Singh, allegedly removed CCTV cameras from the premises. This led to a scuffle and firing, with some villagers claiming shots were fired at Sukhdev Singh and others.

Police arrived at the scene, and SHO Deepika Kamboj of the Kotbhai police station stated that the dispute was over opening the gurdwara’s donation box. “Both groups had 15-20 persons each. We’re verifying if firing occurred. The medical report will clarify the nature of injuries,” she said.

Gidderbaha DSP Arun Mundan assured that no one would be allowed to disturb law and order, and an investigation is underway.
