Literary personalities and historians dwelt on different aspects of mass movements and traced their history through speeches and discussions on the second day of the ongoing People’s Literary Festival in Bathinda today.
Renowned historian Sukhdev Singh Sohal talked about the Gurdwara Reform Movement, the Akali movement and the farmers’ movement during British rule in India. In the second session, Baldev Singh Shergill, an econimist, said, “The government is implementing foreign models, which have already failed in other countries.” — TNS
