Bathinda MP and senior SAD leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal publicly accused the police of failing to curb the drug menace in Bathinda by uploading a 2.05-minute video on Facebook, in which some individuals are seen exchanging suspicious substances, claimed to be drugs.

Further, targeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, she wrote that instead of wasting public money on rallies and publicity under the banner of ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, the government should assess the ground situation.

She further alleged that drugs were being supplied in Bathinda city from morning till evening and said if the Chief Minister could not fulfil his responsibility, he should resign.

Meanwhile, nearly 12 hours after the video surfaced, the police claimed to have initiated action.

Without naming the MP, Inspector Parvinder Singh, SHO of Kotwali police station, Bathinda, said the individuals seen in the viral video had been identified and some of them had been taken into custody.

“The place shown in the video is Machhi Market Chowk and necessary legal action is being taken,” said the SHO.
