A few staff members of the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) have filed a complaint against their principal with the Deputy Commissioner, demanding a probe against her.

They accused the principal of misusing her powers and mentally harassing staff members. They also alleged that she was “indulging” in various irregularities in the tendering process.

IHM staff members Rinkesh Kumar, Jitendra Kumar, Monu Sharma and Amit Khurana have lodged a complaint against principal Rajnit Kohli, administrative officer Ritu Bala Garg and HoD Abheek Pramanick.

In their complaint, the staff members alleged that the institute lacks quality faculty members, which put impact on the study of students. They further alleged that Principal Rajnit Kohli had “employed” her known ones who even do not fulfil the minimum education qualification and experience.

In the complaint, the staff members said, “The principal has been involved in financial embezzlement and when the matter got exposed, the blame was shifted on former accountant Rahul Garg. He was sacked by her for raising his voice against her financial embezzlement.”

They added that without forming an executive committee, the principal had floated tenders and according to the tender committee report, a provisional tender was not provided to the lowest bidder.

On Tuesday, high drama was witnessed on the IHM campus when staff members and principal exchanged heated arguments. Even the police had to intervene in the matter.

Later, the IHM principal issued a show-cause notice to these staff members asking them to explain why they made false allegation to tarnish the image of the institute and management in front of mediapersons and the police.

While talking to mediapersons, IHM principal Rajnit Kohli refuted the allegations of favoritism and flouting norms. The principal said all recruitments in the institute had been done after following the norms.

She termed all charges against her wrong and baseless. The principal said she followed all rules and wanted others to follow these as well.
