Kamaldeep’s hat-trick stuns North-West Railway

FARIDKOT: Kamaldeep Singh scored a hat-trick to help Surjit Academy, Jalandhar, beat North-West Railway, Jaipur, 4-3 and secured a place for his team in the quarter-final of the 27th All India Baba Farid Gold Cup Hockey Tournament on Thursday.

Kamaldeep Singh scored a hat-trick to help Surjit Academy, Jalandhar, beat North-West Railway, Jaipur, 4-3 and secured a place for his team in the quarter-final of the 27th All India Baba Farid Gold Cup Hockey Tournament on Thursday.

In this match, Jalandhar boys were finding it difficult to break down Jaipur team’s defence until the centre forward Kamaldeep netted three goals earning triumph for his team.

In the second match played between Central Railway, Mumbai, and Signal, Jalandhar, the latter defeated the Mumbai team 2-1.

In the third match played between Punjab and Sind Bank Academy, Jalandhar, and PSPCL, Patiala, PSPCL failed to break 3-0 lead of Sind Bank.

The fourth match was played between Indian Air Force and Jarkhar Academy. Air Force won the match 4-1. — TNS
