Elections for various posts in the Youth Congress were conducted peacefully in the district and results were declared on Saturday.
Newly-elected president and general secretary celebrated their victory in the city. Lakhwinder Lakhi was elected president of Bathinda (rural), after securing 1,990 votes while his rival Navdeep Goldi had to suffice with 515 votes. Similarly, Manjit Singh Kotfatta secured 1,872 votes and was elected Bathinda (rural) chief general secretary. Contesting against him, Ramandeep Singh got 282 votes.
The information was shared by Rupinder Bindra, general secretary of the Congress committee (rural). For Maur constituency, Gurikatar secured 372 votes to become president and his opponent got 46 votes. For Talwandi Sabo constituency, Parminder Singh got 1,108 and become president. In Bathinda (urban) Baljit Singh secured 426 votes to become president and in Bathinda (rural) constituency, Zakshdeep got 155 votes. He was elected president.
District Congress Committee president (rural) Khushbaaz Singh Jattana congratulated the winners.
