Bathinda: The chairman of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana’s Administrative Committee, Harpreet Singh Brar, has inducted lawyers MM Behal, Mandeep Kaur Dhillon, Anil Kumar Jain and Vishal Kumar Goyal as members of the panel.



Bathinda: The chairman of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana’s Administrative Committee, Harpreet Singh Brar, has inducted lawyers MM Behal, Mandeep Kaur Dhillon, Anil Kumar Jain and Vishal Kumar Goyal as members of the panel. Brar recently visited the city and held a meeting with members of the District Bar Association. He also presented a cheque for Rs 1 lakh for the library, apart from a computer and a printer. He also sanctioned a water cooler for facilitating the lawyers. The District Bar Association thanked Brar for inducting lawyers from Bathinda.

Check on water thefts

Bathinda: Taking serious view of the media reports about water theft from the canal, the Irrigation Department has stepped up patrolling along the canals and tributaries. Giving this information here on Thursday, XEN Gurjinder Singh Bahia said besides stepping up patrolling, the department has also introduced landline number 0164-2220158 where anyone can give secret information about the theft. The name and identity of the informer will be kept secret.

SBI donates water cooler

Bathinda: Deputy general manager, State Bank of India, Bathinda Module, Ajmer Sethi, and regional manager, RBO-I, Suresh Goyal, on Thursday donated a water cooler fitted with RO to the pensioners at the Pension Bhawan here. Addressing pensioners, Sethi said they no longer needed to visit banks and stand in queues as the online banking system had made the life easy, particularly for the retired. The pensioners thanked the SBI officials for their gesture.
