Man ends life, four of in-laws’ family booked

MALOUT: Depressed due to a matrimonial dispute, a 32-year-old man named Ajaypal Singh, a resident of Mohalla Kalgidhar School, allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance here on Wednesday.

Depressed due to a matrimonial dispute, a 32-year-old man named Ajaypal Singh, a resident of Mohalla Kalgidhar School, allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance here on Wednesday. The police have booked four members from his in-laws family. They are yet to be arrested.

Gurnam Singh, father of the deceased, alleged, “My son had got married about eight years ago to a girl from Kothe Killianwali. However, six months ago, my daughter-in-law returned to her parents’ house. A few days ago, we came to know that she was living with some other man. It drove my son to take this extreme step.”

He had a five-year-old daughter. The police have booked deceased’s wife Deepinder Kaur, her mother Virpal Kaur, brother Jaspreet Singh and Bharpoor Singh. — TNS
