Talking to Bathinda Tribune, suspect’s mother Charanjit Kaur said, “Around 11 pm, all family members were sleeping. Hardeep, along with 10 to 12 persons came, to the house and attacked us. They were carrying sharp-edged weapons and my daughter-in-law Rajveer Kaur sustained severe injuries. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot. In the incident, the father and the brother of the suspect had sustained injuries, who were admitted to a private hospital in a critical condition. The mother, who sustained injuries on her head and arms, has been undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital.

Charanjit said, “My son is an addict and had been demanding money from us for the past many weeks. Hardeep was not doing any work and after his marriage, we had stopped him giving money. He had started living separately around 20 days ago. He had threatened to kill us around 15 days ago.”

Deceased’s mother Baljinder Kaur said, “Only three months ago, my daughter was married to Hardeep. We did not know that his husband would kill her brutally. Now, all I want that accused Hardeep Singh and his associates must get life imprisonment or death sentence at the earliest.”
