Bathinda, December 9

Members of Punjab State Ministerial Services Union carried out a state-wide protest at district administrative complex on Monday. Scores of protesters gathered at the venue and raised slogans against the state government for allegedly failing to fulfill their long-standing demands.

The protesters alleged that despite repeated reminders, the state government turned a blind eye to their demands and they were left with no alternative than to carry out a state-level protest.

They also demanded that apart from providing salaries on time, the state government must also ensure the implementation of the ‘same work same wages’ rule, withdrawal of move to levy Rs200 development tax, implementation of cashless health scheme, probation period to be treated as qualifying service regularisation of contractual employees’ services and implementation of the sixth Pay Commission Report and restoration of old-pension scheme for those recruited after 2004.
