Minor pregnant rape victim admitted to hospital, again

BATHINDA: Following a news report published in Bathinda Tribune recently wherein the mother of a minor pregnant rape victim (16) had alleged that her daughter did not get proper treatment at Women and Children Hospital, a wing of the Civil Hospital, the girl has been admitted to the hospital again.

Following a news report published in Bathinda Tribune recently wherein the mother of a minor pregnant rape victim (16) had alleged that her daughter did not get proper treatment at Women and Children Hospital, a wing of the Civil Hospital, the girl has been admitted to the hospital again.

The victim’s mother had alleged that her daughter was not admitted to the hospital. Later when social service organisation extended support, the hospital authorities admitted the girl, but later discharged her. She had also said her daughter was not even provided a bed during treatment at the hospital and she had to sleep on the floor. After the news was published, the victim has been admitted to the hospital again.

The mother had said family members of the accused, who was behind bars, were threatening them of dire consequences if the victim did not agree to reach a compromise in the case.

Notably, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man. The victim was admitted to Women and Children Hospital on September 9. The girl experienced labour pain following which her mother brought her to the hospital. — TNS
