MRSPTU students bring laurels

BATHINDA: Students of the department of pharmaceutical sciences & technology at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) won laurels by winning prizes in scientific presentations at the Annual National Convention of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTICON-2018) held at SKIT College, Jaipur, this week.

Students of the department of pharmaceutical sciences & technology at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) won laurels by winning prizes in scientific presentations at the Annual National Convention of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTICON-2018) held at SKIT College, Jaipur, this week.

The theme was “Innovative teaching and learning strategies in pharmacy: Requirements & barrier”. A total of 1,400 scientific abstracts were accepted in the conference from across the country in six different categories. Out of the 12 prizes won by participants in six categories, three prizes were won by students of pharmaceutical sciences & technology.

PhD scholar Preet Amol Singh won the best research work prize in pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, herbal and ayurvedic drugs and pharmaceutical biotechnology category. Darshpreet Kaur (PhD scholar) and Nupur Madhvi (M.Pharm student) won second prizes in pharmaceutics, NDDS, biopharmaceutics, industrial pharmacy and pharmacology, toxicology, clinical pharmacy categories respectively. Prof Ashish Baldi, head of the department, congratulated the winners on this achievement and added that the department is fully equipped to lead in research arena and accept challenges facing the pharmaceutical research. MRSPTU vice-chancellor Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar congratulated the winners during interaction and motivated them to participate in conferences to explore recent trends in pharmaceutical education.
