Bathinda, November 11

A nagar kirtan was taken out by Khalsa Diwan Sri Guru Singh Sabha here on Monday. The ‘Panj Pyaras’ led the procession and Sikh warriors performed gatka. Shopkeepers cleaned roads and organised langars on the occasion.

The nagar kirtan commenced from Gurdwara Singh Sahib and passed through Qila Road, Old Thana Road, Sirki Bazaar, Sadbhavna Chowk, Dhobi Bazaar, Mall Road, Ajit Road, 100 Feet Road, Power House Road, Court Road and Mehna Chowk.

Earlier in the day, singing and painting competitions were organised at Rose Garden as part of the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations. Book stalls were also set up at Rose Garden.

In the evening, a candle march was taken out from Fire Brigde Chowk to Qila Mubarak. The march was headed by Finance Minister Manpreet Badal. On reaching Qila Mubarak, the Finance Minister, along with others, lighted a candle.
