Newly revamped admn website launched

Deputy Commissioner Praneet on Tuesday launched the newly revamped website of the district administration www.bathinda.nic.in.

Decked with user-friendly features, the website can also be accessed by the visually impaired using special software, whose link is mentioned on the site.

Giving more information, district informatics officer Sandeep Gupta said the website contains all kinds of information related to the district, including collector rates, driving licence application, passport applications, property registration, e-district sewa as well as details of the administrative officials of the district.

He added that the website is based on three ‘S’, which means it’s secure, scalable and sugamya (easy to operate).

The website also has links in its help section that carries an array of speaking software enabling even the blind people to operate it.

After the software is downloaded, blind people can plug in speakers or ear-phones and listen about the available services.

Blind can also navigate various pages of the website using the facility. The software can be easily installed on any kind of system.

It also has special feature for colour blind users, using which they can change the contrast of website for easy access.

The website can be can be accessed through any internet ready device and is in compliance with GIGW (Guidelines for Indian Government Websites) standard website norms and robust security standards.
