NIA raids Mansa youth's house for 3rd time over 'links' with Pakistan-based terrorist Shahzad Bhatti

A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted a raid at a house at Kulana village in Budhlada subdivision here in connection with its probe into alleged links between a local youth and Pakistan-based terrorist Shahzad Bhatti.

The raid was carried out at the residence of Yadwinder Singh, alias Preet. This was the third time that the central agency searched his house as part of the ongoing investigation.

According to his family members, the NIA team searched the house and examined bank account statements before leaving. The agency did not seize any items today, they said.

Speaking to media persons, Yadwinder said the NIA officials questioned him about some contact numbers and directed him to appear before the agency at its Chandigarh office on June 15.

“During the previous raids, they took away my mobile phones. This time they only searched the house and asked me to appear at the NIA office in Chandigarh on Monday,” he said.

Yadwinder, a Class X pass out, is facing a case under the NDPS Act. The NIA officials did not disclose any details about the probe.
