The Lambi police have booked a resident of Mallan village for allegedly duping a resident of Channu village of Rs 3 lakh by promising a job with the state police.

Sukhraj Singh (50) of Channu village had lodged a complaint in July this year against Sandeep Kumar of Mallan village, accusing him of taking Rs 3 lakh from him by offering job to his son.

Thereafter, an inquiry was held and the accused was booked on Sunday. The complainant also alleged that Sandeep had also threatened him to face dire consequences if he reported it to the police.

A case under Sections 420 and 506 of the IPC has been registered, but the accused is yet to be arrested.
