PAU to hold Kisan Mela in city on March 1

BATHINDA: Punjab Agricultural University will organize Kisan Mela on March 1 at Regional Research Station, Dabwali Road, Bathinda.

Punjab Agricultural University will organize Kisan Mela on March 1 at Regional Research Station, Dabwali Road, Bathinda. Arrangements for the Kisan Mela were reviewed at the meeting of conveners, co-conveners, outstation directors, Assoc.Director (T), Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Punjab Agricultural University.

Dr Paramjit Singh, director, Regional Research Station, Bathinda, informed the theme of the mela was “Jinsan ton Utpad Banayie, Kheti Manafa hor Vadhayie”. He further said the seeds of improved varieties of different Kharif crops, including new varieties of vegetable kits, fruit plants and vegetable nursery recommended by PAU will be sold on the occasion. Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, will preside over the function.

The exhibition will be displayed by different departments of Punjab Agricultural University and other allied concerns. The subject matter specialists of various subjects from PAU Ludhiana will share the research findings with farmers. Besides, queries of the farmers will be addressed by the experts. Farm-women will be provided technical know-how with respect to household activities. The farm literature will be provided on the occasion of the mela.

Dr Paramjit appealed to the farmers to participate in the mela along with their families.
