Bathinda, August 21

Under the Tandarust Punjab campaign, the Municipal Corporation of Bathinda (MCB) has started taking action against the households which don’t give their garbage to the door-to-door garbage collectors in the city.

The MCB has planned to issue a challan of Rs 500 to such households in the city and the MCB allotted number of the house would also be written on the receipt.

MCB workers on Tuesday conducted an awareness drive in Gole Diggi and Vishal Nagar areas. They told residents to keep dry and wet waste in separate bins.

They also told people about issuing challans regarding going defecating in the open and keeping debris or construction material on the road.

Earlier too, the MCB had started issuing challans to people who keep garbage outside their houses or shops. Challans are also being issued to people for not placing dustbins where required.
