Prabhjot Brar elected head of Muktsar Youth Congress

Prabhjot Singh Brar from Jawahrewala village on Saturday got elected as the Muktsar district president of the Youth Congress. He got 615 of 1,098 votes polled. Eight votes were rejected.

There were four candidates in fray for the post and votes were counted at a private hall near the District Administrative Complex (DAC). Meanwhile, Charandeep Singh Bam got elected as the district vice-president by getting 232 votes.

Further, Jaspreet Singh Kotli got elected as president of the Muktsar block, Gursewak Singh Kotli of Gidderbaha block, Gurpreet Singh Mann of Lambi block and Ramneet Singh ‘Rammi Bhagsar’ of Malout block.

A press note issued by the District Youth Congress claimed that Malout MLA Ajaib Singh Bhatti’s son Amanpreet Singh Bhatti was supporting Sukhdeep Singh, but Rammi managed to win and that too by 39 votes.

Rammi got 106 votes polled while Sukhdeep could get only 67 votes. The elections were held under the supervision of Zila Parishad member Simarjit Singh ‘Bhina’ Brar.
