The All-Punjab Anganwadi Workers’ Union has given a call for a state-level protest against non-fulfillment of their long-standing demands at the Chandigarh head office of the Department of Social Security and Development of Women and Children on March 4.

Hargobind Kaur, state president of the union, said, “Leave aside regularising our services and fulfilling other demands, the government did not even pay us the increased honorarium amount since 2018. We demand that anganwadi workers be paid an honorarium of Rs 24,000 and Rs 18,000 for helpers per month.” — TNS
