Punjab influencer Kanchan Kumari's murder accused Amritpal Mehron declared proclaimed offender

A Bathinda court has declared Amritpal Singh Mehron, the key accused in the murder case of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, a proclaimed offender.

Kumari, who was also known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, was killed eight months ago.

Her badly decomposed body was recovered on June 11 from a car parked outside Adesh University at Bhucho Kalan along the Bathinda-Chandigarh highway.

The key accused, Amritpal Singh Mehron, a resident of Moga, had reportedly fled to the UAE after allegedly committing the crime.

So far, three accused – Jaspreet Singh, Nimratjit Singh and Ranjit Singh – have been arrested and are in judicial custody. The case was registered against five persons, while one accused remains unidentified.

Bathinda SP (City) Narinder Singh said, “Amritpal has been declared a proclaimed offender by the court, and we will now raise his extradition request through the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.”

Meanwhile, Ranjit, who was arrested on February 6, was sent to judicial custody today.
