Punjab police officer deployed with Sidhu Moosewala’s uncle dies in ‘accidental shooting’

Tragedy struck on Monday when Hardeep Singh, a police officer deployed with Chamkaur Singh, the uncle of the late singer Sidhu Moosewala, “accidentally shot himself while cleaning his pistol”.

The incident resulted in Hardeep’s untimely death from a gunshot wound. Sidhu Moosewala, a renowned Indian singer and rapper, was assassinated on May 29, 2022.

The circumstances surrounding Hardeep’s death are still under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest that the shot was fired from his own service weapon.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
