Bathinda, June 5

Punjab Youth Congress activists staged a protest against rising fuel prices and torched the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Maur today.

The stir was led by Navjot Singh Sandhu, state secretary, and Harpreet Singh, vice-president, Maur. Sandhu claimed the skyrocketing cost of fuel was hurting small traders as well as those in the transport business. While the crude oil prices were on the decline, the BJP government was refusing to slash the fuel prices, he said. — TNS
