BATHINDA: Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Tuesday inaugurated a newly constructed railway overbridge at Bhai Bhaktaur village on the Bathinda-Mansa road.

Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Tuesday inaugurated a newly constructed railway overbridge at Bhai Bhaktaur village on the Bathinda-Mansa road.

While addressing a public gathering, Singla said the overbrigde was 905 m long and had been constructed at a cost of Rs 29 crore.

The bridge will provide relief to the people of Bathinda and nearby districts residents as earlier it would waste their at the railway crossing.

He claimed that the overbrigde had given a boost to infrastructure in the region and also fulfilled the long-pending demand of the residents of the region.

Vijay Inder Singla said in the coming year, repairs and recarpeting of roads in the state would be done at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore and commuters would be given better road network throughout the state.

He appealed to the people to keep a check on the ongoing projects and help government to ensure good quality work.

Singla added that special arrangements had been made for quality control at factories producing bitumen, used in laying roads.

Former minister Harmander Jassi, chief engineer Mukesh Goyal, SP (H) Surinderpal Singh and B&R XEN Inderjeet Singh were present on the occasion.
