Resolve residents’ grievances: MCB Commissioner

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill met a delegation of residents of PUDA Phase 4, 5 and 6 along with Sirhind Canal here on Friday. The residents apprised him of the problems being faced in their colony.

He instructed officials of Bathinda Development Authority (BDA) to resolve their problems on the spot. Later, he went to Park Nos 7, 17 and 37, Nohria Street, Govt Elementary School, Hazi Rattan link road and Sanguana Basti and inspected the ongoing development works. Tippers collecting solid waste from houses were checked and instructed to collect dry and wet waste separately.

Later, he visited Sanguana Basti streets, where sewers had been laid recently, along with MC Sanjay Biswal. He instructed sewerage board officials to clear the construction material from the streets. He said no laxity would be allowed in the speed and quality of development works.

Earlier, he also visited main disposal works and instructed the officials of the water supply, sewerage board and Triveni company to get rainwater cleared from city roads immediately.
