BATHINDA: The police have booked a SAD candidate of Burj Gill Zila Parishad block, along with his other associates, for running away with ballot boxes from the polling booth at Dyalpura Mirza on September 19.

The police have booked a SAD candidate of Burj Gill Zila Parishad block, along with his other associates, for running away with ballot boxes from the polling booth at Dyalpura Mirza on September 19. 

A case has been registered against SAD candidate Jaspal Singh, Amarjit Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Gurpal Singh, Japinder Singh, Parkash Pamdit, Mandeep Singh, Hari Dev, Pramanand and 35 unidentified persons. 

SSP Dr Nanak Singh confirmed that a case had been registered on the complaint of the presiding officer Amanpreet Singh under Sections 395, 393, 186, 353, 188, 148 and 149 of the IPC.

SAD workers gather outside counting centre

Bathinda: Tension was reported on Friday outside the counting centre at Bhai Asa Singh Girls College at Goniana when SAD workers gathered there over suspicion of some election-related material lying outside. Assistant returning officer Surinder Kumar said SAD leaders were shown all seals on ballot boxes to their satisfaction. — TNS
