According to case details, during the scrutiny of nomination papers for the Faridkot Municipal Council election on May 18, Bunty Romana and his unidentified associates were accused of threatening security personnel and staff on duty at the office of the Returning Officer-cum-SDM.

Following the incident, a case was registered against them at the Faridkot City police station on May 21, 2026, based on a complaint filed by the Returning Officer-cum-SDM. To avoid arrest, the SAD leader moved an anticipatory bail application in the district court.

On Tuesday, Additional District and Sessions Judge Krishan Kant Jain heard the petition and granted him interim bail.
