Sukhjinder Randhawa campaigns in support of Warring in Lambi

Cabinet Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Wednesday campaigned in favour of Congress candidate from the Bathinda parliamentary constituency Amrinder Singh Raja Warring in the Lambi Assembly segment. He said after the elections, he would mark a probe into some development works done in this constituency during the SAD-BJP regime.

Talking to mediapersons, he said, “I have got representations from three sarpanches here today, who have sought a probe into some works done under the Badals’ rule. One sarpanch even told me that grants worth Rs5 crore had come for the village in the past few years, but the village still required toilets, cremation ground, panchayat ghar building and the boundary wall of a school. It shows Badals only looted the public exchequer. They even failed to provide jobs to area residents. In the probe committee of the House, I would even recommend to add the names of some SAD MLAs so that they don’t cry foul later.”

In his public speeches, he attacked Badals for the sacrilege incidents, the police firing at Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura. He asked the Badals what atonement they had sought at Harmandir Sahib recently.

Muktsar District Congress Committee (DCC) president Harcharan Singh Sotha, former DCC chief Gurmeet Singh Khudian and Raja Warring’s close aide Aman Sidhu accompanied Randhawa to villages. Randhawa toured nearly 15 villages, appealed to people to vote for the Congress.

As for Congress’ Patiala candidate Preneet Kaur’s appeal to commoners to visit Moti Mahal as its doors were open for them, Randhawa said, “A leader’s house is always open to public and it’s wrong to say that the doors were opened just close to the polls. Even in the past, some party meetings too have been held there.”
