Talent hunt contest marks Engineers’ Day

BATHINDA: To observe Engineers’ Day, a talent hunt competition was organised at Guru Kashi Univeristy (GKU), Talwandi Sabo, here on Friday.

To observe Engineers’ Day, a talent hunt competition was organised at Guru Kashi Univeristy (GKU), Talwandi Sabo, here on Friday. The event was organised by Guru Gobind Singh College of Engineering and Technology.

Students showcased their talent in 30 events, such as music, painting, dance, singing, skits, choreography, debate, group discussion and rangoli making, among others.

JS Dhillon, vice-chancellor of the university, said, “The talent hunt competition provides a platform to students to exhibit their skills and encourage them to participate in the events to explore their talent.”

Mokibur Hussain Mazumder, event coordinator, said such events not only honed the skills of students, but also boosted their confidence levels.

Amal Farooq, a student of BTech in petroleum engineering, won the overall talent hunt prize of the year. A panel of judges was comprised of Sharan Jeet Kaur, dean, UCFTC, professor Amardeep Kaur and Jaspal Singh from UCBS&H. On the occasion, the winners of various events were honoured by the college management.
