Municipal councillor Tarloch Singh on Tuesday tendered his resignation from the post of president of the management committee of Khalsa Senior Secondary School over alleged financial irregularities in the school and Singh Sabha gurdwara.

In his resignation sent to the president, Khalsa Diwan Singh Sabha, Bathinda, he alleged that they had constituted a management committee with the aim of service to society, but now some members of the committee had diverted from this aim and were indulging in greed.

Further, he alleged that there was a record of funds and account of school and Singh Sabha. He claimed that earlier as well he had repeatedly brought this issue to their notice verbally that a few members of the committee were affecting the school and gurdwara with their actions. He alleged that they kept on ignoring his complaint and did not take any action instead those members were appreciated by being given higher ranks in the school.

He said these actions had affected the atmosphere of the school and even school staff was in fear. He said if they wanted to save these institutes then these greedy persons should be immediately sidelined.

It is pertinent to mention that in June last year, former Khalsa Diwan president and then SAD councillor Rajinder Singh Sidhu was arrested following a complaint by Tarloch Singh in a case of a girl’s suicide.

Later, the Congress took over the control of the Khalsa Diwan Singh Sabha management as the newly appointed Gurmeet Singh inducted Congress leaders on plum posts in the educational institutes run by Khalsa Diwan. Even Tarloch Singh was also appointed president of Khalsa Senior Secondary School.

In the recent development, two months back SAD councillor Rajinder Singh Sidhu had joined the Congress and it seemed that it had irked Tarloch.
