Passengers visiting the bus stand face a lot of inconvenience as the authorities have failed to lift garbage regularly. They also complain of lack of basic infrastructure and facilities.
The passengers are of the view that the authorities are least bothered about cleanliness inside the bus stand.
However, officials shifted the blame to each other. PRTC General Manager (Bathinda) Parveen Kumar said, “A report has been sent to the headquarters to float a new tender, so that the contract for cleanliness should be given to someone else.”
At present, a Delhi-based company, Ayush Shanrakshan Social Organisation, is looking after the bus stand’s cleanliness. Meanwhile, area manager of the company Atul Kumar Singh said the bus stand needed to be renovated and they were doing their work properly.
He said, “It is an old bus stand and needs renovation. We have eight sweepers that initiate cleanliness work.”
