A workshop for parents on better parenting was organised at Delhi Public School in Bathinda on Monday. The workshop started with the school principal’s speech who laid emphasis on three factors — home, school and society — which are responsible for the growth of a child.

The principal suggested different TV programmes and books for better parenting during the event. He tried to make the parents understand the uniqueness of each child and advised them not to follow the crowd.

Babita Khanna, a teacher at the school, informed parents about the remodelled structure for the assessment of Classes IX and X and also the major decisions taken by the CBSE for parents to know and monitor the progress of their wards.

She talked about the introduction of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ and ‘Financial Marketing Management’ and the launch of ‘Shiksha Vani’ to ensure wider dissemination of CBSE policies.

The parents were then educated by Sanjay Khanna, convener, Socio-Economic Welfare Society, about the partnership of teachers, parents, school, board and the government.

Khanna shared about the expectations of teachers from parents and vice-versa and laid stress on the coordination between both the parties involved.
