Chandigarh, November 26
Nalwa MLA Ranbir Gangwa (in pic) was unanimously chosen as Deputy Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar proposed his name, which was seconded by Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala.
A former MP sent to the Rajya Sabha by the INLD, Gangwa had joined the BJP just before the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year. His name was finalised today.
Gangwa was chosen over BJP MLA Seema Trikha to balance the caste equation and give representation to the OBC community.
Ganwa said he felt proud that the House has entrusted him the responsibility. He assured the members of impartial conduct and thanked the voters of the Nalwa constituency for electing him as MLA. — TNS
