HCL Tech’s net profit jumps 20.34% to Rs 4,626 crore in Q1FY27, plans to invest Rs 3,500 crore to build AI data centers
Company records highest-ever first-quarter net-new bookings of US $2.4 billion
HCL Technologies on Monday said that its consolidated net profit for the April-June quarter of the current fiscal year Q1FY27 increased by 20.34 per cent year-over-year (YoY) to Rs 4,626 crore.
The company made Rs 3,844 crore in profit during the same period previous year. From Rs 4,490 crore in Q4FY26, HCL Tech’s profit grew by 3 per cent sequentially, or quarter-over-quarter (QoQ).
Operational revenue for the June quarter reached Rs 34,579 crore, up 14 per cent YoY and 1.8 percent QoQ. The IT company’s revenue was Rs 30,349 crore in Q1FY26 and Rs 33,981 crore in Q4FY26.
The company’s owners’ total comprehensive income for the quarter was Rs 4,689 crore, down 7.2 per cent YoY and 13.2 per cent QoQ.
C Vijayakumar, CEO and MD, HCLTech said in a statement, “We recorded our highest ever Q1 net-new bookings of $2.4Bn and our Advanced AI business grew 10.6 per cent QoQ and 62.1$ YoY in constant currency terms.”
“These demonstrate that enterprises are choosing us to lead their AI-led transformation. Combined with the operational efficiencies visible in margin expansion, this momentum gives us the confidence we’re positioned to keep outpacing the market over the medium term,” he added.
For the fiscal year 2026–2027, the board of directors of the third-biggest IT company in India also announced an interim dividend of Rs 12 per equity share of Rs 2.
The interim dividend will be paid on July 27, with the record date set for July 17.
Meanwhile, in another development, HCLTech announced a strategic investment of up to Rs 3,500 crore to establish AI data centers, with the potential to scale to 50MW of capacity. The AI data center investment is complemented by HCLTech’s existing capabilities across AI data center design, DevOps and AI cloud operations as well as our software portfolio, enabling a truly integrated end-to-end play.
