Implement labour laws universally: Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh

The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has demanded the universal implementation of labour laws for all sectors, increased minimum pension, five-day working week for banking sector and full pensionary benefits to MTNL/BSNL employees.

It also demanded that the Centre urgently convene Indian Labour Conference — involving the government, employers and workers — to discuss workers’ issues and the implementation of the four labour codes. The body also announced nationwide protests if their demands were not met.

A delegation of the workers’ union met Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Wednesday and urged him to adopt the resolutions made at the 21st All India Triennial Conference of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) held in Odisha from February 6 to 8.

“The BMS demands universal implementation of labour laws for all sectors and categories of workers without any exemptions in the true spirit of Antyodaya; revival and strengthening of the tripartite mechanism; enhancement of the minimum pension under EPS-95 from 71,000 to 27,500 per month along with dearness relief,” it said.
