JLPL launches 2nd phase of Sector 94, Mohali

Fali S Nariman bags Lal Bahadur Shastri award

Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu recently presented the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence for the year 2018 to Fali Sam Nariman. He has been awarded for his outstanding contribution in the field of legal and social reforms in India. Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh was also present at the award ceremony.

RITES observes Vigilance Awareness Week

RITES Ltd, a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 29 to November 3 in pursuance of directives of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) on the theme "Eradicate Corruption: Build a New India". A number of activities, including elocution and debate, vendors' meet, kavi sammelan, outreach activities at gram sabha, medical camp, lecture and a release of a vigilance bulletin were also organised during the week.

Capitol Hospital, Jalandhar, holds CME on cancer treatment

A CME was recently organised in Jalandhar by multi super speciality Capitol Hospital. It was organised in collaboration with the CME Indian Medical Association, Jalandhar unit. The main objective was to provide information to doctors about the latest technology of IHC and the benefits of the Pat CT scan and target therapy which was used in the treatment of cancer at Capitol Hospital.

HDFC Bank organises sports event for staff

HDFC Bank recently organised the 7th edition of its annual sports competition for its employees of the Chandigarh region. Known as Josh Unlimited, this event is the flagship employee engagement initiative which the bank undertakes to promote fitness and overall well-being among its employees through sports.  In Chandigarh, the event was held at Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium, Panchkula. Over 550 employees and their families participated from Chandigarh as well as neighbouring towns.

Workshops on energy-efficient building materials held 

A series of district-level workshop-cum-exhibition on energy-efficient building materials was organised by Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) in association with Chandigarh-based Saakar Foundation and Pune-based VKe Environmental at DC Complex in Fazilka and Adesh Institute in Faridkot recently. According to Arch Surinder Bagha of Saakar Foundation, the events were aimed at empowering architects, engineers and builders on utilising green materials to save energy.
