Mahindra rolls out Marazzo in Chandigarh

The Mahindra Marazzo has been launched in Chandigarh at a starting price of Rs 9.9 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Punjabi actor Binnu Dhillon, M&M Limited RSM Ashish Sharma and principal dealer of Raj Vehicle Rajwinder Singh and Jaskaran were present at the launch.

The Mahindra Marazzo has been launched in Chandigarh at a starting price of Rs 9.9 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Punjabi actor Binnu Dhillon, M&M Limited RSM Ashish Sharma and principal dealer of Raj Vehicle Rajwinder Singh and Jaskaran were present at the launch. Currently, the Marazzo is available in four variants M2, M4, M6, and M8 in six colours, and the top-of-the-line variant is priced at Rs 13.90 lakh (ex-showroom).  The Mahindra Marazzo, available in 7/8-seat configurations, has mileage of about 17.6 kmpl. 

NHPC, BHEL sign pact on hydroelectric projects

NHPC Limited has signed a pact with BHEL for consultancy and co-operation in hydroelectric projects. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Cherian Mathew, Executive Director (RE&C), NHPC, and AM Gupta, Executive Director, Hydro Business Group, BHEL, at NHPC office in Faridabad. The pact is aimed at cooperation towards leveraging of respective strengths and competencies for mutual benefits of the companies in the field of hydroelectric projects. As per the MoU, both companies would cooperate in joint bidding for consultancy works and hydroelectric projects, wherein, NHPC shall be responsible for civil works and hydro mechanical works and BHEL shall be responsible for electro-mechanical works. The agreement will consider mutual co-operation on projects in India and remain in force for three years.

ASG eye hospital opens in Ludhiana

Eyes’ super specialty hospital chain ASG, having a larger presence in North and North-East India, opened its first branch in Ludhiana on Monday. The ASG group has 26 branches in 13 states and 21 cities across India. All eye-related diseases will be diagnosed and treated under one roof in this super specialty eye hospital, which will from Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana. Services such as cataracts, lasik, vitreo-retina, occuloplasty, cornea, squint, paediatric ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology and others will be available in the hospital. HUDCO organises Swachhta Pakhwada

HUDCO CMD Dr M Ravi Kanth kick-started Swachhta Pakhwada on August 16 by administering “swachhata pledge” to all employees. HUDCO adopted a government primary school in Sarai Kale Khan, where Dr Kanth planted a sapling and addressed the students for keeping their surroundings clean. HUDCO employees volunteered to clean the school premises and also presented a street play. Several activities were organised during the pakhwada to highlight the importance of Swachhta in everyday life. A painting competition was also organized on the subject and a day was dedicated for cleaning the office premises by all employees. 

BHEL observes learning week

‘BHEL Learning Week’ was inaugurated by Atul Sobti, CMD, BHEL, at the company’s corporate office in New Delhi. Directors on the Board and other senior employees of BHEL were present on the occasion. The week is being celebrated as a festival of learning and will witness a series of managerial or functional seminars, programmes, competitions, technical symposiums and brainstorming sessions, emphasising on the overall development of employees. Manoj Mishra, C&MD administered ‘swachhta pledge’ to employees at Corporate Office, Noida. 

Swachhta Pakhwada at NFL

National Fertilizers Ltd is organising ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ from September 1 to 15. C&MD Manoj Mishra administered the ‘swachhta pledge’ to all employees of NFL Corporate Office on September 4 to devote 100 hours per year to keep their surroundings clean. A cleanliness drive was also undertaken in the vicinity of the corporate office.  A number of activities to sensitize people towards cleanliness have been lined up at all the units and offices of the company during the pakhwada.

NITTTR celebrates annual day

National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Sector 26, Chandigarh, celebrated its 51st Annual Day on the campus on Sunday. Chief guest Prof Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi shared his views on challenges faced by technical education in India and appreciated the new initiatives and innovations being undertaken by this institute for technical teacher training to improve the quality of technical education. He assured the support of AICTE to the institute towards qualitative improvement of technical education in the country. Earlier, NITTTR Director Dr SS Pattnaik presented the Annual Report of the institute. Awards of excellence to technical institutes were presented to Government Polytechnic, Jammu; Thapar Polytechnic College, Patiala; and DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab.

Infosys players shine in badminton league

Paras Bliss and Paras Hospital, Panchkula, has organised the annual Paras Badminton Premiere League at the Sports Complex, Sector 7, Chandigarh, for IT companies. More than 200 players from various firms participated in the league. Chandigarh Mayor Davesh Moudgil was the chief guest. Tanya and Anshul, both from Infosys, emerged winner in the woman singles and the men singles’ categories, respectively. In doubles, Tanya and Neha from Infosys got through the finals while Anuj and Ankush, also from Infosys, sailed through the finals. In mixed doubles, Anshul and Tanya won the match. In the men’s singles, Infosys’ Abhay won the second prize, while Divhu, of Infosys bagged the second position in the women’s singles. In the women’s doubles, Niti and Divhu of Infosys came second. In the mix doubles, Sitanshuand Divhu of Infosys bagged the second spot. “Corporate companies must promote activity and sports on their campuses as it will improve employees’ health and the firm’s productivity,” said Ritesh Mittal, GM Operations, Paras Bliss and Paras Hospital, Panchkula.
