Mumbai, June 22
Equity indices resumed their slide on Wednesday after a two-day breather, pressured by profit-taking at higher levels and a sell-off in global markets.
The Sensex tanked 709.54 points to close at 51,822.53. Similarly, the Nifty fell 225.50 points to 15,413.30.
Rupee at all-time low of 78.32/USD
- The rupee declined by 19 paise to settle at an all-time low level of 78.32 against the US dollar on Wednesday
Tata Steel was the biggest laggard, shedding 5.24%, followed by Wipro, Reliance, IndusInd Bank, HCL Technologies, Bajaj Finserv, Titan and Bajaj Finance.
