NBCC observes Vigilance Awareness Week

DARBAR SAHIB:NBCC, a Navratna CPSE, observed ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2019’ from October 28 to November 2 on the theme “Integrity- A way of Life”.



NBCC, a Navratna CPSE, observed ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2019’ from October 28 to November 2 on the theme “Integrity- A way of Life”. During the week-long event, an annual vigilance bulletin was released along with thought-provoking posters curated by the Vigilance Department.

LPU disburses grant worth 

Rs 4 crore to 295 students

To help meritorious students achieve their dreams without financial constraints coming in their way, Lovely Professional University has rewarded 295 students with the LPUNEST Study Grant worth Rs 4 crore. This grant has been specially instituted by the LPU from this year for students from financially weak backgrounds who qualify for educational institutions like IIMs, IITs, NITs, NLUs, IHMs and NIFTs. The grant was disbursed Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal recently.

Two Dolphin students selected for stipend, internship in US

Dolphin (PG) College of Science And Agriculture, Chandigarh, has selected two students - Ankita Rani and Arubam Mona Chanu (B.Sc Agriculture) — for one-year internship and placement programme in dairy farming in Iowa, USA, with an annual stipend of Rs 22 lakh. A felicitation ceremony was recently held at Dolphin Campus to acknowledge the achievement of these students.

NHS Hospitals, England, to hire nurses from Punjab

Facing an acute shortage of nurses, National Health Service (NHS), England, is recruiting nurses from India. Services in hospitals across England have been severely hampered due to shortage of 40,000 nurses. INSCOL, Chandigarh, has signed an exclusive agreement with Health Education England to train and recruit nurses from Punjab & Chandigarh for numerous NHS Trusts across England.

Fortis Hospital, Mohali, recently organised an event to commemorate three years of successful congenital heart surgeries under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) scheme. The event was held to commemorate the feat of treating over 450 successful congenital heart disorders. Over 50 children who have been successfully treated were invited along with their parents to share their success stories. Rajiv Arora,  Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Health Department, was the chief guest.

Sibia Medical Centre unveils book on Guru’s teachings

To commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, Sibia Medical Centre, Ludhiana, has released a booklet about the 10 main teachings of Guru Nanak. The bilingual (English and Punjabi) booklet contains pictorial depiction of some of the gurdwaras related to Guru Nanak's birth, his visits and where he spent his last sixteen years.
