NHPC to generate 25,400 million units power in FY19

NHPC Ltd has signed an MoU with Ministry of Power for the year 2018-19.



NHPC Ltd has signed an MoU with Ministry of Power for the year 2018-19. The MoU was signed by Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of Power, and Balraj Joshi, CMD, NHPC, in the presence of senior officials. In the MoU signed, generation target under excellent rating has been set at 25,400 million units (MU) for NHPC as against last year's target of 24,000 MU.  

RCF organises Railway Week award function at Kapurthala

The Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, celebrated the 63rd Railway Week award function-2018 with zeal and fervour on April 21. Satya Prakash Trivedi, General Manager, RCF, was the chief guest and gave away mementos, merit certificates and cash awards to 50 employees/officers for their outstanding performance during the year 2017-18. He also presented Running Safety Shield to Electrical Production Shop selected for maintaining high standards of safety. 

Rotary Club, Yamunanagar, donates mobile dental van

Rotary Club of Yamunanagar has donated a mobile dental van to DAV Dental College, Yamunanagar, to provide services to people living in villages and far-flung areas. The van is fitted with two dental units/chairs, all necessary equipment and restorative materials to impart quality dental treatment along with an x-ray unit to help patients for making their quick diagnosis before necessary treatment is given then and there. It was flagged off from DAV (C) Dental College by the SDM, Yamunanagar, Principal of the college Dr IK Pandit and Rotary Club members. 

Mehr Chand Polytechnic College organises Techno Mela-2018 

To encourage students, Techno Mela-2018 was organised at Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar, recently in which final year students displayed the models and projects prepared by them. Dr Ajay Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, inaugurated the exhibition. Dr RK Mahajan, Vice-Chancellor, DAV University, and Principal Dr Manoj Kumar of DAVIET also participated as a guest of honour. In the 

exhibition, around 80 working and still 

models were displayed.

Cambridge University Press is a part of the University of Cambridge and through the Cambridge English Empower Programme, teachers at the university will prepare students for real world communication skills, making them more confident for industry placements. 

Ground-breaking ceremony of Green Lotus Saksham held

Ground-breaking ceremony of Saksham - a green residential project on the Zirakpur-Patiala road at Zirakpur - was performed on April 14. The ceremony was attended by Amit Mittal, MD, Ms Sheenu Mittal (Director) and Vivek Sawal (Director) among others. Saksham is a multi-tower project with 3, 3+1, 4 and 5 BHK apartments and penthouses. It is gold certified by the Indian Green Building Council. 

Panasonic unveils inverter AC with ‘air-purifying’ system

Panasonic India has showcased its new range of inverter air conditioners in Chandigarh. The new range is inbuilt with its patented air-purification system called Nanoe™ Technology that actively removes PM2.5 and airborne particles giving up to 99% clean air. With the new range, the 

company plans to achieve 15%+ growth in Punjab market in FY 18-19.

Subodh Gupta takes over as Director (Finance), BHEL

Subodh Gupta, 54, has assumed charge as Director (Finance) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). Prior to this, he was handling overall financial planning and strategy, treasury management and taxation in the corporate finance division of BHEL, besides heading the finance function of Strategic Business Units under the company's Industry Sector business segment.

Aurelius inks insourcing projects with four pharma companies 

Aurelius Corporate Solutions has signed four pharmaceutical projects with Sun Pharma, Cadila, Torrent Pharma and ACG Pharma. Aurelius will enable the teams in these companies with the mission critical expertise for implementing business impact processes. Aurelius will provide strategic learning solutions in Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC), analytics, SAP and Microsoft Technologies to these leading pharmaceutical companies as a part of the project. 

SBI installs 151 solar 

panels at rooftop sites  

State Bank of India on the occasion of World Earth Day on Sunday further solidified its commitment to become carbon neutral over time. The bank has installed 151 solar panels at rooftop sites which will generate 6.23 MW energy. These sites are spread throughout the country. This will be in addition to the already functional solar capacity of 3 MW and 15 MW through wind energy. The energy generated through these renewable sources are solely for captive use by the bank’s various offices and branches across the country, making them free of any carbon emission.

Hyundai Motor climbs up ranks in brand power 

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has attained a significant growth in enriching its Brand Power under Modern Premium Brand direction. HMIL has steadily climbed up the ranks demonstrating a steady increase in awareness and preference for its premium offerings among the customers. The enhanced Brand Power Index increased the company's awareness from 77% in 2016 to 80% in 2017. Hyundai's brand preference went up from 69.7% to 70.7% and repurchase intention grew by 3.2% to 76.2% in the same period.
