Over 450 persons pledge to donate organs at Fortis event

Fortis Hospital, Mohali, organised an awareness programme to promote the noble cause of organ donation at Elante Mall, Chandigarh, on August 11. More than 450 visitors pledged their organs for donation.

More than 450 visitors pledged their organs for donation. Hockey star Balbir Singh was the special guest on the occasion. "One can continue to live in this world even after death by donating organs and it can make you immortal," said Abhijit Singh, Facility Director, Fortis Hospital.

LIC's Cancer Cover Plan is a regular premium payment health insurance plan which provides financial protection in case the life assured is diagnosed with any of the specified early and/or major stage cancer during the policy term. Max Hospital flags off ‘Road Safety Week’

To create awareness and community engagement in promoting road safety, Max Super Specialty Hospital, Mohali, in association with Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA), has commenced a week-long activity to promote 'Road Safety Week'. Dr Ramesh Sen, senior director and head, Max Institute of Orthopaedic Surgery, said the IOA's Road Safety Week will involve many activities, including awareness, tips on prevention and care of road traffic accidents victims. The idea is to publish books, journals, conduct symposiums and lectures besides rolling out print, TV and radio media campaign.

Ganga Acrowools unveils new products at dealer conference

Ganga Acrowools Ltd. organised its annual dealer conference in Ludhiana on August 5. Around 300 dealers from across the country participated in the conference. As many as 14 new products were launched on the occasion. Performance awards were also presented on the occasion. 

Promote use of Hindi in official work, workers told

The first meeting of 'Nagar Rajbhasha Implementation Committee' was organised at Salal Power Station on August 9 under the chairmanship of Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager, Salal Power Station, chairman of the committee. Parmod Kumar Sharma, Deputy Director (Implementation), Rajbhasha Department, Ministry of Home, Government of India, presided over the meeting. While appreciating the efforts made by member organisations, Sharma requested all head of the departments to ensure implementation of Rajbhasha Policies in letter and spirit to motivate the employees in their respective organisations to perform routine office works in Rajbhasha Hindi.

Three-day yarn, fabric and accessories show from Aug 30

The first-ever yarn, fabric and accessories show — “YFA 2018” — will be held at Dana Mandi in Ludhiana from August 30 to September 1. It is aimed at redefining the industry and bringing suppliers closer to buyers and offer buyers a one-stop place to source all their requirements. Being organised by Vision Communications, the expo will witness players from domestic as well as international markets.

500 students attend orientation for St. Clair College, Canada

Jain Overseas Services, Jalandhar, recently organised an orientation programme at Windsor campus of St. Clair College, Canada. Around 500 students participated in the programme. The college's Toronto campus principal John Wu and vice-principal Amit Jain were also present on the occasion. Company's managing director Dr Sumit Jain welcomed the officials. The principal apprised the students about the introduction of new courses that will begin from the next session.

NBCC receives Dun & Bradstreet PSU Award

NBCC (India) Ltd. has bagged prestigious Dun & Bradstreet PSU Award 2018 under the category "Contract, Construction & Technical Consultancy Services". Canadian HR body ties up with SBMC, Mohali

Canada-based Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) has entered into a tie-up with Shree Balaji Management Consultants (SBMC), Mohali. This is the first time that HR association of British Columbia and Yukon, Canada, has recognised any training partner in India. A two-member delegation also visited the campus recently to address the students on various aspects and scopes of HR training in Canada. 

SBI pays claim of Rs 20 lakh to kin of accident victim

State Bank of India has paid an amount of Rs 20 lakh to the legal heirs of a savings bank account holder who met with an accident and died. The deceased had purchased a Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) policy of the bank by paying a premium of Rs 1,000 only.
