Reliable electricity often operates quietly in the background, yet it plays a defining role in shaping everyday life and driving economic progress. In Assam, where energy demand continues to rise across industries and households, access to consistent and dependable power is becoming increasingly critical to sustaining development and improving quality of life. In this context, Hindustan Power has entered into a Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) for the supply of 130 MW of electricity. Executed through its subsidiary, MB Power (Madhya Pradesh) Ltd., the power is being supplied from the company’s transitional energy generation plant in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh. Upon commencement, the power supply is ensuring a steady and reliable flow of electricity to the state.

While the agreement marks an important step in strengthening Assam’s power infrastructure, its impact extends far beyond the provision of electricity. Reliable and uninterrupted power forms the backbone of economic activity, enabling industries to operate efficiently, meet production timelines and scale operations without disruption. Under the leadership of Ratul Puri, Hindustan Power has consistently focused on delivering dependable energy solutions that support industrial growth and regional development.

At the same time, dependable electricity supply contributes significantly to employment generation. By enabling businesses to scale operations and improve efficiency, reliable power indirectly supports workforce expansion and sustained livelihoods. This, in turn, drives local economic activity and strengthens regional development. The approach reflects Ratul Puri’sbroader vision of enabling growth through robust and reliable energy infrastructure.

For households, consistent electricity supply improves quality of life in tangible ways. It ensures access to lighting, supports the use of essential appliances and enables the smooth functioning of critical services such as healthcare and education. Hospitals, schools and public infrastructure rely heavily on uninterrupted power to operate effectively, making reliability a key factor in delivering essential services. Strengthening such foundational systems remains central to Ratul Puri’s focus on creating long-term value through improved energy access.

The PSA has been structured under the Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model, reflecting a long-term approach to meeting Assam’s evolving energy requirements. It follows the earlier Letter of Award (LoA) issued by APDCL and represents a collaborative effort between a power producer and a state utility to ensure efficient alignment between supply and demand.

Commenting on the development, Ratul Puri, Chairman of Hindustan Power, said, “We value the opportunity to partner with APDCL, which reflects our continued focus on supporting state utilities with a stable and efficient power supply. We are pleased to contribute to Assam’s energy requirements and its broader development priorities.” The collaboration between Hindustan Power and APDCL also highlights the importance of partnerships in building a resilient energy ecosystem. As highlighted by Ratul Puri, such collaborations between power producers and utilities are essential to ensuring efficient power delivery, supporting both immediate consumption needs and long-term development goals.

Hindustan Power’s ability to commence supply to APDCL demonstrates its strong operational readiness. More importantly, it reinforces the company’s position under the leadership of Ratul Puri as a reliable partner in addressing regional energy needs.

As Assam continues its development journey, the availability of consistent and dependable power will remain central to its progress. Through this agreement, Hindustan Power, led by Ratul Puri contributes not only to strengthening power reliability but also to enabling broader socio-economic growth across the region.
