New Delhi, February 13

India’s organic market is set to grow to Rs 75,000 crore by 2025, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said ahead of the first organic food festival with special focus on women being organised by her ministry to unleash India’s organic food potential.

“With an aim to empower women and promote organic produce, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is organising the national organic festival with a special focus on women entrepreneurs,” said Badal.

Beginning February 21, “the first-of-its-kind festival will feature more than 150 women entrepreneurs and self-help groups (SHGs) from all over the country who will exhibit organic products in various segments like fruits and vegetables, ready to eat products, spices and condiments, honey, cereals and dry fruits,” she added.

The festival at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is being organised to boost the organic products and promote women entrepreneurship in organic products, she said. — TNS
