Hosts Chandigarh University, Gharuan, beat Jadavpur University 20-6 to lift the overall trophy at the All India Inter-University American Football Championship for Women here today.

Dr BR Ambedkar University, Agra, finished third after they beat Jaipur National University in the playoff.

Sheetal Sharma of the hosts was declared the Best Offensive Player, while Anjali of Dr BR Ambedkar University was adjudged the Best Defensive Player of the tournament. Tejasweetha of Jadavpur University was named the Most Valuable Player.

In the semifinals, Jadavpur University thrashed Jaipur National University 18-0, while hosts Chandigarh University trumped Dr BR Ambedkar University 8-0.

Earlier, Jadavpur University blanked Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, 6-0 in the league match, while Bangalore Central University drubbed CT University, Ludhiana, 20-0.

In the last league match, Bangalore University downed Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole University, Rajasthan, 8-0.

In the quarterfinals, Chandigarh University registered a 12-6 win over Bangalore University, while Dr BR Ambedkar University defeated Bangalore Central University 8-0.

Jaipur National University edged out Poornima University, Jaipur, 6-0 and Jadavpur University registered a 6-0 win over the University of Rajasthan in the quarterfinals.
