Chandigarh, March 2

The police have arrested foreign national Chizoba Chrisanctus (38), at present living in South Delhi, for cheating on Kamlesh Kumar of the city. The police have recovered two mobile phones, seven SIM cards and a passport from the suspect. The complainant stated the suspect contacted him through social media for business and allured him for investment. The suspect created fake investment opportunities and promised high returns.

The complainant added he met a woman, Sara Anna, through social media and she encouraged him to invest in a pharmaceutical company. He transferred Rs 39,33,333 to three bank accounts.

The police said Chrisanctus had come to India on a medical visa, which expired on November 19, 2019. He was living in the country illegally.

A case under Sections 419, 420, 120-B, 467, 468, and 471 of the Foreign Act has been registered at the cybercrime police station.
