100 attend meeting on employment generation in Panchkula

A district-level meeting was held today at the auditorium of the PWD Rest House, Sector 1, Panchkula, to promote employment generation under the Prime Minister Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY). The meeting was organised by the District Employment Office and DIC, Panchkula, and was attended by around 100 employers, including representatives of various associations, hospitals and schools in the district.

The meeting was chaired by Rajiv Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Department, Haryana. He sensitised employers about the implementation of the PMVBRY, which has been approved by the Union Cabinet and has come into force from August 1, 2025. He said the scheme reflects the government’s commitment to creating inclusive and sustainable employment opportunities across the country.

“An outlay of Rs 99,446 crore has been approved by the Central Government, with a target of promoting over 3.5 crore jobs nationwide over two years,” he said. “Under Part A of the scheme, first-time job seekers registered with the EPFO will receive direct benefits, including one month’s EPF wage up to a maximum of Rs 15,000, paid in two instalments,” said Ranjan.
