After their land was acquired, the landlords were handed a letter of intent (LOI), following which GMADA reportedly forgot to develop the land or allot their commercial sites, alleged Avtar Singh Walia, Ravinder Singh, Jatinder Singh, Jagtar Singh, Sukhdarshan Singh Dhillon and Sudagar Singh, all residents of Hoshiarpur. They said their land was taken dirt cheap but 11 years later, its value had appreciated a lot.
