These teams have visited a total of 234 wards, colonies, neighborhoods and villages so far, where they interacted with 7,020 people to gather information about the drug situation in which 1,124 addicts were identified.
Challenges related to the campaign and the future strategy was discussed in a meeting presided by Police Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Arya. The meeting was attended by the police team, along with medical professionals Dr Manoj Kumar (HoD, Civil Hospital), Dr Leza (Psychiatrist), Dr Praveen Kumar (Drug Inspector) and Counsellor Ajit Kumar.

He assured that the campaign would continue in the future. He also called upon all sections of society to actively participate in the campaign, stating, “A drug-free campaign is the foundation of a strong society. Let us all unite to make it successful and step toward a brighter future.”
Inspector Rajesh Kumari said the three teams carried out special awareness drives in areas where drug issues were more severe, as per the Police Commissioner’s directions. Weekly and monthly programmes were organised with the help of local station officers and doctors. Drug victims identified on the spot were transported to primary treatment centres using government vehicles and follow-ups were conducted to monitor their progress.
