14-year-old student rescued hours after kidnapping in Fatehgarh Sahib, 6 held
Boy was abducted from outside school
The police have rescued a 14-year-old boy within hours of his alleged abduction from outside a government school and arrested six accused. A car and a motorcycle used in the crime were impounded.
Addressing the media, Bassi Pathana DSP Raj Kumar Sharma said Surinder Pal Singh, a resident of Bhairopur village, had lodged a complaint that his nephew Arvinder Singh, a student of Government Senior Secondary School, Balahri Kalan, had appeared for an examination on February 27.
As he was waiting outside the school around 1.50 pm to take the boy home, a car (PB-03AA-0130), with mud smeared on its front number plates and a motorcycle stopped near the gate. Five to six unidentified persons got down, assaulted the boy and forcibly pushed him into the car and sped away.
He added that acting promptly, ASI Shashwat Kumar and his team launched a search operation and intercepted the accused near Dafehra Mor and rescued the boy. The DSP said the police were investigating the motive behind the abduction. A case has been registered.
